| Project Type: | Evaluation |
| Brief Description: | The Consuelo Foundation seeks to assist "hidden homeless" families in Hawaii to realize The American Dream of home ownership through a comprehensive self-help housing and community development project. Selected families invest approximately 800 hours of sweat equity building an increment of 6 to 9 houses. Participants also make a commitment to adhere to a set of values embraced by the Foundation. The Evaluation Center is conducting a 7-year longitudinal study of the project, offering formative and summative feedback for program improvement. The Foundation also expects that the Center's work will contribute to the process of program duplication in other contexts. |
